Policy
We collect the bare minimum required to operate the signal. What we store, we store carefully. What we do not need, we do not keep.
What We Collect
- — Account data: email, phone, or OAuth identifier when you sign in.
- — Dispatches: the text and metadata you choose to transmit.
- — Technical logs: IP address, user agent, and request timing for abuse prevention.
- — Cookies: session tokens required to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising trackers.
Why We Collect It
To authenticate you, attribute your dispatches, prevent spam and abuse, and keep the Observatory upright. Nothing more. We do not sell your data and we do not run ad targeting.
Third Parties
A small number of vendors process data on our behalf:
- — Lovable Cloud — database, authentication, file storage.
- — Twilio — SMS delivery for phone sign-in codes.
- — ElevenLabs — text-to-speech generation for audio playback.
- — Google — OAuth sign-in (only when you choose it).
Each is contractually bound to use your data solely to provide its service.
Retention
Dispatches remain in the archive indefinitely — that is the point of an archive. Account data persists until you delete your account. Technical logs are rotated within 90 days.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Deletion of an account removes your identifiers; dispatches you have published may remain in the archive in anonymized form.
Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored with row-level access controls. No system is invulnerable. If a breach occurs that materially affects you, we will notify you without undue delay.
Changes
This policy may be revised. Material changes will be announced on the site. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance.
